It would seem that we’re not the only ones dying to hear any kind of solid news about Beyond Good & Evil 2, a game that everyone knows is in the making but no one knows anything about. Actually, no one actually knew that the game was in the making until recently. Besides that one long-ago teaser trailer, the game’s creator Michel Ancel has only ever teased concept art or dropped subtle hints that the game is still being made, but we hadn’t had confirmation in a long time until Tim Schafer stepped in and drilled Ancel with questions like a fanboy.
Double Fine was hosting a “Devs Play” featuring the first Beyond Good & Evil with Ancel, and Tim Schafer basically forced information out of him. He slyly commented that the sequel is going to be amazing, to which Ancel responded by saying, “That’s a problem: no choice. It has to be great.” That’s not concrete enough for fans, and it wasn’t concrete enough for Schafer, who asked later on if Ancel was definitely making a sequel. The answer? “Yeah, yeah. But it’s difficult because… I always want to do something different.” Way to go, Tim. You got out of Ancel in one hour what we’ve been trying to get out of him for eight years.
