BF3 Brings The Hammer Down On Cheaters

BF3 Brings The Hammer Down On Cheaters

None

There is nothing scummier in the world of video games than cheating in persistent online multiplayer. So when the cheaters flooded Battlefield 3, I stopped playing until EA said they would finally fix it. Now, my wish is being granted.

According to the BF3 Twitter, hundreds of cheaters and hackers have already been banned and thousands will be banned in coming weeks. They claim they have “zero tolerance for cheating players,” whether those cheaters are hackers or people who just take advantage of a game-changing glitch. Apparently many of those banned were using an engineer class glitch that allows players to build an insane score in very little time.

That being said, EA is going to patch Battlefield 3 to reduce the instances of cheating. Not only that, but the upcoming patch will also address some balance issues with the game. In particular, the tactical flashlight will be nerfed. As of now, we don’t have a release date for the patch, but EA assures us it will be here soon.

More developers need to take a “no tolerance” stance toward cheating, because there is nothing that destroys online FPS quicker than a guy with a wall hack.
