Yesterday a splash page was put up by Blizzard with an icy, frozen, crystalline-looking background. Due to the frozen look people thought it would have something to do with the Wrath of the Lich King expansion for World of Warcraft. As such, not much speculation arose. However, as of today, that has all changed. Two runes have appeared in the ice that has gotten Diablo fans excited. According to WoW Insider, the two runes are from Act 5 of Diablo II: Lord of Destruction and represent the levels of hell. Combine this with the nifty poster released by Blizzard for their Worldwide Invitational Paris 2008 that prominently features the game’s nemesis and it looks like Diablo 3 is well on its way to making a 2009 appearance.
