Change those Passwords, Epic Games Forums Hacked

Change those Passwords, Epic Games Forums Hacked

It’s going to be one of those mornings. Dire news from the internet! Your personal information could be at risk, again. Epic Games has sent out an alert letting people know that its forums have been hacked. This means passwords and personal information could have been compromised, so if you happened to use that password anywhere else, go change it.

Though, you won’t have to worry about going to Epic Games’ forums and checking things out just yet. As a precautionary measure, the developer has temporarily closed all of them, even though the only forums hit were the Bulletstorm, Gears of War, Infinity Blade, UDK, and classic Unreal Tournament games. Go there if you want, but you’ll find nothing. Think of it as the company helping you, since your password will automatically be reset once it comes back online.

Especially since Epic Games says that any forum information could have been accessed in the hack. Profile details, information you might have provided when you created an account, and even information you might have sent in messages to other users. Be smart, don’t respond to any suspicious emails over the next few weeks, and always remember to have multiple passwords!
