Counter-Strike: GO Getting SDK

Counter-Strike: GO Getting SDK

None

Valve is known for their unparalleled mod support for their PC games, and upcoming Counter-Strike: Global Offensive is no different. Gabe Newell has already announced a “date” for the games accompanying software development kit on the podcast Seven Day Cooldown. The SDK will come out three months after the full title drops. The only problem with this is that we don’t know when the full title is going to release. So while it is nice to know that we will be modding CS:GO quickly after its release, a concrete date is still out of our grasp.

Newell went on to talk about some features of the SDK. It is in development by Valve veteran Mike Durand and will include several maps from Counter-Strike 1.6 that never made it into Counter-Strike: Source. Global Offensive will fully integrate both previous Counter-Strike titles into its engine.
