Custom Avatars Coming to PS4

Custom Avatars Coming to PS4

Sony’s PlayStation 3 came with the ability for players to set custom avatars to proudly display to the world. This feature has been mysteriously missing on Sony’s current generation console, the PlayStation 4. According to a recent tweet by the official PlayStation twitter account, this disparity is soon to change.

An update scheduled for next week will add video game themed avatars to PlayStation 4’s online storefront. Prices for these avatars are yet to be announced.

Sony also says that any avatars owned by players from their PS3 days will carry over. Currently, players can use the mobile app to set their profile picture to any image they want, but can only display it to players on their friendlist who have accepted a real-name request. After this update, players will be able to express themselves with a bit more freedom to the entirety of the PlayStation community.
