Dark Souls, the spiritual successor to Demon’s Souls, works the best if it has a strong community that continually uses its online features. Well, it looks like we won’t have to worry about that. From Software and NAMCO Bandai recently broke down the sales numbers for Dark Souls, and it turns out that 1.5 million units have been shipped worldwide. Here is the official breakdown by territory.

  • Japan: Released on 9/22, 370,000 shipped

  • North America: Released on 10/4, 620,000 shipped

  • Europe: Released on 10/7, 470,000 shipped

  • Asia: Released on 10/18, 40,000 shipped


    So if you are looking to get into a game with a thriving online community of literally a million users, Dark Souls has you covered. Just keep your rage in check, because you’re going to die a lot.
