While we just reported on the possibility of Valve working on a Defense of the Ancients game, Valve has apparently made the rumor more official. Whether Valve is serious about making a Defense of the Ancients game, or are simply just very aware of the rumors, they have officially trademarked the name according to Superannuation (via 1Up).  This trademark comes after a couple other signs have already been pointing to a Valve released Defense of the Ancients game. The first occurred last year when Valve hired Icefrog, the original designers of the DotA mod for Warcraft III. The second came only a couple days ago, with voice actor John St. John tweeting about doing recordings for a new DotA game at Valve. In other words, we should be hearing an official announcement about an upcoming Valve published Defense of the Ancients game soon. |
