Valve is well known for taking a mod for a game and turning it into a full experience. A mod of Half-Life brought us Counter-Strike and, more recently, a mod of Unreal Tournament 2004, Alien Swarm, remade using the Source engine was released free over Steam. So rumors that Valve may be working on a revamped mod taken from Warcraft III should come as no surprise.  According to CVG, Valve is currently working on a reworked Defense of the Ancients game. However, this news didn’t come from a leak in the company or a spotted posting, but from the mouth of Duke Nukem himself, voice actor John St. John. He recently posted “Had a great time in Seattle last week recording for DotA. The guys at Valve Software are awesome!” on his Twitter account. Hopefully Valve will be asking fans to “come get some” Defense of the Ancients soon. We’ll let you know if or when this becomes official. |
