RUMOR: DOTA 2 Going To Gamescom?

None

Valve strangely didn’t have anything to show at E3 this year. In fact, they didn’t even go. So it only makes sense that they’d try to make up for their absence with an awesome showing this year at Gamescom. According to a recent rumor, that is exactly the case.

To get people hyped about the event, Gamescom’s official website posts a list of companies that will be exhibiting at the show, and what sorts of games they will be showcasing. In Valve’s case, the website has them down for showing off a brand new strategy game. Using basic process of elimination, it’s easy to conclude that the only game that Valve is working on that could possibly fit in the strategy genre is DOTA 2. Either that, or there is some completely new Valve property that none of us knows about.

DOTA 2 was announced last year, and we haven’t heard much word about it since then. Hopefully, Valve will shed more light on this project at this year’s Gamescom. We will bring you more updates on the Valve DOTA 2 project as they become available.
