Diablo III for Xbox One could now hit 1080p

In an interview with AusGamers on Monday, July 7, Blizzard Entertainment’s senior producer Julia Humphreys noted that, thanks to the Xbox One’s June software update and the removal of the Kinect (which has been confirmed to have improved the console’s software development kit ), the resolution of the Xbox One version of Diablo III could be bumped up to 1080p, which would bring it on par with the PlayStation 4 version.

It’s possible, Humphreys told AusGamers when asked about increasing the game’s resolution. “ We’d just need to look at what that would require, and we’ve actually [talked to] Microsoft about that.

We established that Diablo III was in development for Microsoft’s Xbox One back in late-March, but Blizzard Entertainment wasn’t sure whether or not an Xbox One version of the game would actually release at the time. It was later confirmed that it would be releasing on the console back in mid-May.

Humphreys also assured that the PlayStation 4 version of the title will run at native 1080p, 60 frames per second.

So PS4 is native 1080p, super-solid 60 frames per-second, ” Julia noted. “ The difference with Xbox One is the resolution is 900p, but the frame-rate is the same, the textures are the same — everything else is the same, ” Blizzard’s Matthew Berger added during the same interview.
