Watch_Dogs Was Confirmed to Run at 1080p, 60fps; Claims were Redacted

Over the weekend, it was reported that Ubisoft’s upcoming open-world game Watch_Dogs was confirmed to run at 1080p resolution and at 60 frames per second on the PlayStation 4–claims that were clearly displayed on Watch_Dogs’ overview page on PlayStation.com .

However, as discovered by Game Informer , the claims have since been redacted from the page’s blurb for the game. Game Informer reached out to Ubisoft for clarification regarding the claims of the game running at 1080p, 60 frames per second, but the developer has yet to respond to the inquiry.

Before the edit, the blurb initial read, “ The world of Watch_Dogs comes alive on PS4 with the best graphics on any console and exclusive missions found only on PlayStation. Hack everything as you make your way through Chicago’s underground as you experience Watch_Dogs in a way that only PS4 can provide, at 60 Frames Per Second in 1080p.

The edit removed “ at 60 Frames Per Second in 1080p ” from the blurb.

We will report on this further should additional information arise. For now, until officially confirmed otherwise, the claim that Watch_Dogs will run at 1080p, 60 frames per second is still up in the air.

According to Watch_Dogs’ creative director Jonathan Morin, Watch_Dogs will have a 35- to 40-hour long story mode if players do a little roaming on the side, but completionists can look forward to around 100 hours of content. There is also no planned demo for the title.

Watch_Dogs is slated to release on Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 on May 27, a release date that was finally announced after several delays.

A Wii U release has also been confirmed for this Fall. Furthermore, Ubisoft has also revealed that it is now fully focused ” on developing the game for Wii U . Watch_Dogs PC requirements have been released , as well as its Ultra requirements. The game will also feature over 13,000 unique animations.
