Diablo III Patch 1.03 Is Live

Diablo III Patch 1.03 Is Live

None

Diablo III has been a source of controversy since release, with problems related to its always-on internet connection, even when playing solo, and the late launch of its polarizing Real Money Auction House. As players have spent more time with it, though, and reached level 60, completing Normal, Nightmare, and Hell modes of play, they have found tremendous balance issues at the highest of levels: Inferno. Between enemies not scaling correctly for co-op and excessive damage increases all around, the difficulty mode has brought many a seasoned player to their knees.

Patch 1.03, which went live today, aims to address that, and other quality of life concerns, with a few major changes. Chief among these appear to be a higher drop rate of level 61-63 items on the final acts of Hell and throughout Inferno. A general damage reduction has hit Acts II-IV of Inferno and specific monsters now do less damage. Further, crafting, as well as upgrading artisans, requires fewer resources and significantly less gold.

The full patch notes are extensive, and available on the Diablo III website or from the game’s launcher. On a personal note, though? Monks can now use two-handed axes, maces, and swords. Hell yes.
