Double Fine Working with THQ

None

Awhile back we reported that Double Fine was currently working on four smaller projects that had been signed by publishers. Although no specific details about the publishers or games were given at that time, Double Fine is finally lifting the mask on one of these deals.

Working with THQ, Double Fine will be releasing an adventure/RPG titled Costume Quest (via 1Up). The concept for this game involves taking on the roles of young trick-or-treaters, collecting items and taking quests from around their neighborhood. There will also be a combat mode, which involves the characters becoming gigantic versions of their costumes and doing battle Godzilla style. About their upcoming titles, Double Fine CEO Tim Schaefer stated “We wanted to make a big impression with these, our first downloadable games ever. So we are coming out swinging with two great adventures from two of the most creative minds in the company.” No details were given about the second game, other than it would be a third-person adventure title coming in early 2011.
