Double Fine Working Quadruple Time

Double Fine Working Quadruple Time

None

Yesterday we reported that Double Fine Productions was apparently working on multiple projects at once, however, today we’ve found out the official number of titles they’re currently developing is four. According to GameIndustry.biz, Tim Schafer outlined the company’s decision to go with multiple titles at the recently held Develop conference. Schafer began stating “We got a phone call from a publisher saying “we’re not going to do a sequel to Brutal Legend.” My fault was that I had not prepared for that, so we did not have a project ready to go.”

After revealing the company had a number of prototypes made as part of a two week team motivational exercise, Schafer explained “So we picked the best four took them on a roadshow and showed them to publishers. In a couple of months all four games got signed. So we became officially a multi-project studio. Trying to kill us made us multiply.” He also went on to confirm that some of these titles would be downloadable and some would be retail, with some even seeing a release this year. However, there were still no specific details given about any of the four titles currently being developed.
