Elder Scrolls Online Will Be Tailored To Group Play

Elder Scrolls Online Will Be Tailored To Group Play

If you thought that you were going to power through The Elder Scrolls Online as a badass solo player, think again. The game is going to be tailored toward group play and the difficulty of the game will represent that.

“The Elder Scrolls Online is set up to be a fluid experience,” says official Elder Scrolls Online blog. “As you wander the landscape you’ll encounter caves, forts, tombs, dungeons, and etc. Certain rare locales will just be for solo players, and some dungeons are meant for groups made only of people you choose to go in with. Most locales, however, will be accessible by everyone.”

The blog went on to say that players of higher levels could obviously solo lower-level dungeons, even though the rewards wouldn’t necessarily be as good. They personally recommend grouping up with a friend or a stranger if you’re having difficulty with a dungeon. ESO is definitely a game that lives and dies by outnumbering your opponents.

Additionally, the ESO blog detailed dungeons that would offer “branching paths” allowing them to see new locales and battle different enemies each time they go into the dungeon. That being said, the MMO is being set up to be combat-oriented first. So, everything about the game is set up to let you slaughter your foes alongside your friends. The difficulty levels within the game’s dungeons will be clearly marked, and each dungeon will have checkpoints that let you resurrect inside the dungeon without having to travel all the way back to the combat from the dungeon’s entrance.
