Epic No Longer Working On Bulletstorm Sequel

Epic No Longer Working On Bulletstorm Sequel

None

Bad news is coming out of Epic Games today. Apparently, the planned sequel to Bulletstorm that was rumored to be in development has been both confirmed to have existed and confirmed to be discontinued on the same day. Epic has moved Polish developer People Can Fly to a new project (as of yet unnamed) due to Bulletstorm’s lukewarm reception.

“We thought a lot about a sequel, and had done some initial development on it, but we found a project that we thought was a better fit for People Can Fly,” said Mike Capps, President of Epic Games. “We haven’t announced that yet, but we will be announcing it pretty soon.”

Capps says that he believes Bulletstorm was received well, critically, but piracy prevented the game from selling well. The PC version, he feels, was particularly affected by this. “It wasn’t the best PC port ever, sure, but also piracy was a pretty big problem” said Capps.
