Fable Legends Open Beta Delayed

Fable Legends Open Beta Delayed

Lionhead has decided to try something new with Fable Legends. It’s a free-to-play, action RPG-RTS hybrid of sorts, which doesn’t sound like Fable at all. My suspicion is that Lionhead wanted to work on something completely new, and is relying on the power of the Fable brand to attract a larger player base. At any rate, the game has been in development for a while, and we were supposed to get a chance to play in an open beta this holiday season. It looks like we’re going to have to wait a bit longer to see what it is all about.

The creative director had this to say: “We’ve decided to extend our closed beta to continue to listen to feedback from our players and add features and polish that will make a real difference. This means Fable Legends won’t release into open beta this holiday as previously announced. We realize this may be disappointing for those of you not currently playing, so we wanted to tell you why.” According to the update video, the game turned out to be a much larger project than originally anticipated, and the team at Lionhead wants to keep the game in closed beta for a while longer to incorporate the feedback they’ve been getting. You can watch the full update right here for all of the details:
