Insider “Confirms” GTA V 2014 Release for PS4 / Xbox One

Industry insider Ashan Rasheed has made another appearance this week. Last time, he leaked information regarding Deus Ex , the next Mass Effect game and Grand Theft Auto V for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One being showcased at this year’s E3, hinted that the PlayStation 4 would be Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare ’s lead console , and teased that the PlayStation 4 itself may be getting PlayStation One and PlayStation 2 compatibility on “ select titles.

Tuesday, May 27’s leak concerned the “official release” for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One ports of Rockstar Games’ Grand Theft Auto V .

Revealed via Twitter, Rasheed established that major triple-A titles that are planned to be ported to current-gen consoles are being pushed until 2015, and that the only HD remastered game we can expect in 2014 is Grand Theft Auto V .

I’ve echoed this sentiment before- major AAA titles are pushed in 2015 as tools, engines, and programmers get up to snuff, ” Rasheed tweeted.” If people are clinging onto Sunset Overdrive , The Last of Us HD , and Halo ports as the ‘breakout titles of 2014’, I hate to break it guys–the only remaster this year that will sell in excess of 4 million is the one, the only, Grand Theft Auto 5 .

When challenged about his assertion, Rasheed responded with a suggestion that further information will be revealed at this year’s E3 during “ someone’s conference.
