Microsoft Not Ruling Out Xbox Backward Compatibility

Microsoft Not Ruling Out Xbox Backward Compatibility

The Xbox One does something pretty awesome for its console owners. People who have stuck with Microsoft for the last two generations don’t have to abandon their games. The Xbox One is backwards compatible with over 250 Xbox 360 games. Pop in a disc or redownload an old game, and you’re back in business. But, it seems Microsoft isn’t forgetting original Xbox games either.

On Twitter , a user asked Phil Spencer if the Xbox One would ever be backwards compatible with original Xbox games. The head of Xbox replied, “We haven’t ruled it out but we aren’t working on it right now. I’d like to find the time to do it.” It isn’t a yes, but it also isn’t a no. It’s better than a no, because it confirms two things. One is that Spencer, one of the most powerful people there, would like to see it happen. The other is that it has been discussed and not ruled out.

Are there any Xbox games you’d love to play on your Xbox One? I think I’d like to play Panzer Dragoon Orta and Jade Empire again. But then, there are so many great Xbox games, it wouldn’t be difficult to find ones you’d like to go through again.
