Next Mass Effect to be shown at Comic-Con 2014

Next Mass Effect to be shown at Comic-Con 2014

As detailed on the official Comic-Con website, Mass Effect developer BioWare will be hosting a panel at this year’s Comic-Con that’ll be dedicated to the development of the franchise’s next Mass Effect edition.

Entitled “Charting a Course: Developing the Next Mass Effect ”, Mass Effect developers from the Edmonton and Montreal studios will be taking part in the panel to discuss what it’s like to expand upon the Mass Effect franchise.

Furthermore, panelists Carl Boulay (lead animator), Fabrice Condominas (producer), Mike Gamble(producer), Noel Lukasewich (senior artist) and Jessica Merizan (community manager) will be sharing their experiences in shaping the next Mass Effect game with new possibilities while also staying true to the series itself.

The San Diego event will be taking place on Thursday, July 24 through to Sunday, July 27, and BioWare’s Mass Effect panel is scheduled to go live on Saturday, July 26 at 2pm, Pacific Daylight Time until 3pm, Pacific Daylight Time.

We’ve established that the next Mass Effect game will reference the series’ original trilogy , but the game itself will not be directly related to it.

I can’t get into that too much. We’ve got a really cool idea for how we’re going to carry on – keep the trilogy separate but at the same time give a bunch of nods to fans who enjoyed the trilogy in the past, BioWare Edmonton and BioWare Montreal boss Aaryn Flynn teased in an interview last month. “ That’s all going to come out soon.

In-progress footage of BioWare’s next Mass Effect was revealed during this year’s E3 , where several members of BioWare’s team discussed the studio’s goal to create a story that can be discovered as interactive fiction. The studio will also be taking on board feedback from Mass Effect fans regarding what the want in the next installment to the Mass Effect franchise.
