Pokemon Sun & Moon Trailer Reveals New Evolutions and Features

Pokemon Sun & Moon Trailer Reveals New Evolutions and Features

A new trailer for Pokemon Sun & Moon was released earlier this morning, and it was jam-packed with new footage, new Pokemon, and new details. Alola, the game’s Hawaii-inspired setting, was revealed to be not one island, but four. Players will travel to each island to compete in Island Challenge Trials. These trials are basically the new gym battles, but with added variety. Players will compete in Pokemon battles, scavenger hunts, dance battles, and more. Eventually players will face the island’s residing Trial Captain and battle a “Totem Pokemon:” a powerful Pokemon that calls on other Pokemon for help during combat. Assuming you complete the trials, you’ll finally face off against each island’s residing Kahuna.

The Pokemon themselves have some exciting new tricks. Z-Moves are powerful new attacks that you can use once per battle – think limit breaks. Some Pokemon like Vulpix and Sandshrew (as well as their evolutions) have “Alola forms” as well, which in the case of those species are icy variants with unique attacks. “Ride Pokemon” will aid you as you traverse over land, in water, or through the air from one island to the next. The trailer also reveals some brand new Pokemon. There’s a ton of new information packed into the 5-minute sneak peek. I’ll embed it below so you can check it out for yourself:
