According to Japanese business news agency, Nikkei, Sony is putting together a team to bring cunsumers a gaming/phone hybrid in order to better compete with not only Nintendo but also Apple’s iPhone. Despite the failure of the Nokia’s N-Gage just a handful of years ago, there likely is a market for a hybrid device, as the iPhone seems to be an ever more popular gaming alternative. Plus, Sony’s ailing Ericsson cell phone division has the expertise to execute alongside the electronics giant. Sony plans to go forward as early as July, according to Nikkei. |
