PUNSU Set to Revolutionize Multiplayer Gaming*

None

A new concept in gaming will be available in the summer of 2010. Employed during multiplayer matches, PUNSU (stands for Put Up n’ Shut Up) lets players risk losing an important personal item if they lose. PUNSU comes with the PUNSU Punisher, a device that will actually destroy the chosen item should the player lose, much to the delight of the victors.

Because players receive no gain financially or through merchandise or services, the concept is not considered gambling, and it’s legal throughout the world. And why would players want to risk losing expensive items? Because it’s fun. Not only does it force you to play at your best, but according to developer Nin Fimberger, nothing beats watching another player lose his or her prized possessions.

PUNSU can be played on the PC, Xbox 360, and PS3. Any existing game that features online multiplayer modes can facilitate PUNSU. Players meet in the PUNSU lounge where they decide on a game, but more importantly, decide on what they should risk. All players must agree to all of the items that all of the players are risking, or they can simply leave and find another game. In this way one player won’t be risking a cell phone while another puts his half-eaten Big Mac up as an offering. Not all items have to be identical, they just have to have an approximate related value, taking into consideration not only monetary value but personal value such as heirlooms or works of art. When all items have been deemed acceptable, they are hooked up to the PUNSU Punisher, awaiting possible and permanent destruction.

Once the PUNSU Punisher has been set, there is no stopping it. The PUNSU Punisher is an electro-mechanical device that resembles a carpenter’s tool belt. It’s strapped to the item and linked to the PC or console via a USB or similar input port. Using the PUNSU software installed in the gaming system, PUNSU will detect the loser of the game and set the Punisher in action where it will use a series of small drills, hammers, and saws to destroy the item it’s strapped to.

“This device is unholy, and entirely dangerous,” exclaims former CheatCC CEO Arty Hackery, “I didn’t know what it was while it was lying around the house, so naturally I wore it like a hat. Why I plugged my hat into my computer I am not entirely certain. I had played a game of Bejeweled with my nephew online, a game that I’m not particularly good at given my typical bad judgment. Immediately afterward I was rushed to the emergency room where I was under observation, and in extreme pain, for three days. Later I was taken to another ward which shall remain nameless, where I was placed under observation for three weeks. Needless to say, I’ve stopped wearing hats with wires attached to them,” Hackery adds.
