When Scarlet Nexus was initially revealed, I thought it was a sequel to Bandai Namco’s soulslike effort, Code Vein. I like Code Vein a lot. I was extremely excited for Scarlet Nexus just to be crushed by the fact there is no correlation whatsoever. Scarlet Nexus is an action role-playing game developed by Bandai Namco Studios and Tose and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment. It was released on June 25, 2021, for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X and Series S. The game arrived with generally favorable reviews and currently sits at 80 across its platforms on Metacritic.

The Premise Of Scarlet Nexus
In Scarlet Nexus, you control one of two playable characters who are tasked with defending the city of New Himuka from creatures known as the Others. The gameplay emphasizes real-time combat as the player has direct control over their characters while fighting. The two playable characters are similar but different enough to warrant multiple playthroughs. As the player progresses through the game, they gain different NPC party members who assist in combat. Each companion has their own unique combat abilities, which can then be acquired by the protagonists through an ability named “brain link”.
