Seized PlayStation 3s Released From The Netherlands

Seized PlayStation 3s Released From The Netherlands

None

Last week approximately 300,000 PlayStation 3 units were seized upon entering the Netherlands. The reason? A patent dispute between Sony and LG. If you thought this measure was extreme, you aren’t the only one. Apparently the legal system in the Netherlands agrees, and has ordered the release of the confiscated consoles, as they felt the response was not appropriate to the charges and the current state of the case.

Of course, this isn’t an automatic win for Sony, as legal proceedings are still underway, and if they progress much further, another seizure could occur. But for now, it seems citizens of the Netherlands are once again free to purchase PlayStation 3s without incident.
