Skylanders is arguably the franchise that started the entire “mini-figures that you use in games” fad. Since then Disney Infinity has come around and there are also the Nintendo Amiibo. Not only has the Skylanders toy and video game franchise done well, they’ve also branched out into other forms of media. There’s a Netflix series based on Skylanders that has been around since fall of 2016.
Skylanders Academy features voices like Justin Long, Ashley Tisdale, Jonathan Banks, Norm Macdonald, and Catherine O’Hara. It’s about a group of academy graduates who protect the Skylands from evil. Season Two of the show has already been planned to release sometime later this year. It is doing so well, Netflix has asked that a Season Three of Skylanders Academy also be produced. This third season will be set to release some time in 2018.
So if you’ve got children, or know some children who like Skylanders Academy (or even if you like the series yourself, we won’t judge) be prepared for tons more of it. There’s no set release date for Season Two yet, but watch for it later this year.
