Steamworld Dig was a breakout hit on the Nintendo 3DS back in 2013, and did well upon release on subsequent platforms. It was actually the second game in the Steamworld series, but the first game to receive critical acclaim and attract a large fan base. The sequel (and third game in the series), Steamworld Heist , took the franchise in a totally new direction – focusing more on strategic, turn-based combat. Heist , too, received rave reviews and is one of the “must-play” downloadable games from the 3DS eShop. Pretty soon you’ll be able to play Steamworld Heist on a few more platforms.
Image & Form games has announced that Steamworld Heist is headed to the PS4 and PS Vita on May 31. The game will be cross-buy compatible, so when you purchase it for $20 on either platform, you’ll unlock it for the other. The game will also have a launch window discount of 15%, so you’ll want to scoop it up soon! Image & Form indicated that Steamworld Heist will be made available on Steam right after the PS4 release, and on Xbox One, Wii U, and iOS soon after that.
