Stranger’s Wrath Comes To PSN

Stranger’s Wrath Comes To PSN

None

Oddworld is one of those franchises that we all sort of remember, yet it was never quite able to hit superstar status. The original Oddworld came out in 1997, and it spawned a ton of sequels, leading up to Stranger’s Wrath in 2005. Last year, a new HD port of Stranger’s Wrath was announced for both the PC to be developed by Just Add Water. We now know that the game will be coming to the PSN this summer—sooner than we had thought.

This isn’t just the PC port that came out last December; it’s a fully remade game with 720p visuals, redone character models, remastered dialogue, and lots of bonus material. It will even come with fully integrated PlayStation Move support.

Stewart Gilray, CEO of Just Add Water, said this about the upcoming release. “Since word got out that we’ve been working with Oddworld Inhabitants there have been many rumours circulating about what we’re working on. Oddworld: Stranger’s Wrath is the first project in what we believe will be a long and fruitful relationship. Having the chance to update this great title and release it on PS3 is just a brilliant opportunity, not least for us, but for the fans too.” So be on the lookout for the HD remake of Stranger’s Wrath this summer.

A while back there were rumors of a game called The Witcher: Rise of the White Wolf coming to consoles. However, this project was apparently canned when issues cropped up with another developer, Widescreen Games. It’s possible that the project was restarted and is being kept under wraps for now.
