Well, not exactly. Oddworld: Abe’s Oddysee will be receiving the same nip and tuck treatment that many of gaming’s most loved franchises have been getting of late. As gamers on Steam may or may not know, Oddworld: Stranger’s Wrath was recently re-released there and met with enough success to warrant another go at Oddysee. Developer Just Add Water will helm this project, but don’t expect any major changes. Lorne Lanning tells EGM, “the way Just Add Water wants to approach it, we thought was very smart; they are not trying to reinvent any wheels. It’s like, ‘Can we make that experience in a new engine, with new tech, in the old way?'”  Plans to bring Stanger’s Wrath to PlayStation Network have also been cemented. Releasing the game in Xbox Live Arcade, however, has proven to be much more challenging, as Microsoft hasn’t seemed to warm to the idea. |
