Team Bondi Closure Is Official

Team Bondi Closure Is Official

None

Last month, we reported that Team Bondi, the company that released L.A. Noire in May, was put “under external administration,” and that it was looking like it might not be around much longer. The developer has also been making headlines for the last couple of months regarding poor working conditions, in-fighting, and a rocky relationship with Rockstar.

Now, Gamasutra reports that the paperwork has been filed. It’s official: Team Bondi is closing.

It is strange how quickly Bondi melted down. The company only ever released one title, which they had been developing for almost a decade. When L.A. Noire was eventually released, it became a fast favorite among gamers, but Bondi wasn’t interested in turning it into a franchise. So, Rockstar has been threatening to absorb the company.

What this means for L.A. Noire 2 is still uncertain, but rumor has it that Rockstar is no longer interested.
