Test Drive: Ferrari Announced

Test Drive: Ferrari Announced

None

A while back, it seemed the Test Drive series was going to stop with Test Drive Unlimited 2. Apparently, the developers of Test Drive went on strike after the studio, Eden Games, experienced massive layoffs. Well, either that is resolved or another studio has taken over development of the Test Drive series, because the franchise is continuing with a new installment. Test Drive: Ferrari was announced for a March 30 launch date in Europe.

Bigben Interactive will be publishing the game but will not necessarily be distributing it. Test Drive Unlimited 2 was distributed by Atari here in the States, and we don’t yet know if they will be doing the same for Test Drive: Ferrari. No details on the game itself have been announced as well, as Bigben has declined to comment on the game’s development. So we don’t know if the game will be open world, like its predecessors, nor do we know what cars (other than Ferraris) will be drivable when the game hits store shelves.

There is a rumor going around that Need for Speed: Shift’s Slightly Mad Studios is the developer behind Test Drive: Ferrari, but this has not yet been confirmed. The rumor is supported by Eurogamer however, so take it as you will.
