The Garden Warfare 2 Open Beta Starts Next Week

The Garden Warfare 2 Open Beta Starts Next Week

Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare 2 is set to drop on February 23 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. If you didn’t play the wildly successful Garden Warfare back in 2014, and you’re not sure if this is the type of game that you can get into, you’ll have a chance to try it out for free next week. Starting on January 14, anyone can download the open beta for Garden Warfare 2 from the Xbox Live Marketplace or the PlayStation store.

You’ll be spending time in the game’s hub world, “Backyard Battleground,” with some restrictions of course. Three plant classes (Rose, Citron, and Kernel Corn) and three Zombie classes (Imp, Super Brainz, and Captain Deadbeard) will be available for players to choose for play in a few game modes, one of which is the new Herbal Assault: a role-reversing mode where plants go on the offensive and zombies defend. The 24-player multiplayer mayhem will take place across four new playable maps. If you have any interest in this game you’ll want to download it while you can as the open beta only lasts a few days, concluding on January 18.
