The Last Guardian Getting Help?

The Last Guardian Getting Help?

None

The Last Guardian, the next game from Team Ico, first premiered several E3’s ago. However, a number of staff changes, game delays, publicity snafus, and all around chunks of bad luck have still kept the game from coming out. Gamers are now wondering if The Last Guardian will ever hit store shelves. Luckily, Sony game design chief Shuhei Yoshida has confirmed that many of Sony’s studios are teaming up to make sure this game gets out the door.

In addition to the original Team Ico design studio in Japan, God of War studio Sony Santa Monica is also contributing to the development process. However, Yoshida said that it doesn’t stop there. “Well, you know, it’s not just Santa Monica,” Yoshida said in a recent interview with Wired. “We have great tech people in Worldwide Studios. We have a central tech group in the U.S. and the UK so we are giving them whatever help they need. Technically, we have the best engineers in the U.S. and Europe, so these teams are helping them, giving advice,”

Apparently the scope of The Last Guardian is bigger than anyone as Sony originally thought. To fully realize their vision, they must grapple with the system limitations of the PS3. When The Last Guardian finally comes out, you can be sure that they will be using every design trick in the book to squeeze every ounce of power out of Sony’s console.
