The Penclic is a Treat Any Gamer or Designer Needs!

The Penclic is a Treat Any Gamer or Designer Needs!

When it comes to mice, you’re used to them all looking alike. Even if they have bells and whistles, with things like lights, special materials to make them more distinctive or comfortable, and a myriad array of buttons, they all tend to look the same. Penclic Mice are different. They’re mice that basically have a pen on the top, and they could end up being the gaming buddy you didn’t know you needed.

I know, there are probably concerns. The Penclic Mouse seems like a gimmick product. Which is fair – it is a mouse shaped like a pen. Visually, it looks like something more artistic or work oriented, but it could actually meet your needs. It does have a resolution that can go between 800 and 2400 DPI. There’s a scroll wheel on the base. Also, you have five buttons you can program to meet your needs. As attractive as all those gaming mice are, how many of you actually own one? Show of hands. I have three and play video games for a living, but still find myself going with a more standard mouse most of the time.

Here’s what really gets to me about the Penclic Mouse. When I use a standard mouse I sometimes have a tendency to pull my arm close to my body. I hunch in close over, hovering over my laptop or PC’s screen, my hand clutching the peripheral in what eventually becomes a misshapen claw. This may sound silly, but the Penclic Mouse makes me relax more. It’s impossible to be a gaming hunchback when you’re essentially holding a pen, and that means I’m a lot more comfortable while I play. But hey, that’s just me.

It’s also rather handy if you go with a gaming laptop. The point of a laptop is to take it with you, but you can’t go playing FPS games easily with a touchpad. Really, it’s not conducive to most serious gaming. The Penclic is good for that. You don’t have to worry about a mousepad. You don’t even have to worry about cords, if you go with the wireless model. It can go anywhere easily, just like the laptop.

Which works with another Penclic Mouse point. Think of it as an option for games where you’ll do some clicking, but not be going crazy with attacks. While it’s substantial, it is a bit light and could feel delicate in some people’s hands. So maybe consider it as a traveling companion, since it’s easy to grab and use on the go. Maybe go for it when enjoying point-and-click adventures. It might even go well with your MMO, so you can keep up with raids and events on the road. While its precision would be handy for FPS games, I might eventually worry about all that clicking and those rapid movements.

It’s also comparable in price to other mice. A high quality product will usually cost between $50 and $80. The Penclic Mouse falls comfortably in the middle at about $65. I’m okay with paying something of a premium price when I know I’ll be using the item for years. Sometimes, you have to treat yourself.

When it comes to gaming peripherals, conventional is often the most eye-catching. You want something reliable and faithful. Which is understandable, because if you’re been getting by fine for years, you might want to stick with that. But that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t experiment. The Penclic Mouse is an opportunity to try something different. It could afford you the same opportunities as a standard mouse, and maybe more.
