The PlayStation Store’s PLAY Event Kicks Off with Pre-orders

The PlayStation Store’s PLAY Event Kicks Off with Pre-orders

The PlayStation Store’s PLAY promotion is back. Every year, Sony tries to get people interested in various games both big and small by offering pre-order discounts, themes, and coupons for grabbing more than one. This year is no different. To celebrate the launch of Headlander , Abzu , Brut@l , and Bound , PlayStation Plus subscribers can get pre-order discounts, everyone gets pre-order themes, and people who grab at least two of the featured titles get a 20% off coupon.

To start, let’s go through the list of PlayStation 4 games that will be available and when, as well as the PlayStation Plus discount you get for buying them before they launch.

  • July 26: Headlander – $15.99 with PlayStation Plus pre-order, $19.99 without.
  • August 2: Abzu – $15.99 with PlayStation Plus pre-order, $19.99 without.
  • August 9: Brut@l – $11.99 with PlayStation Plus pre-order, $14.99 without.
  • August 16: Bound – $15.99 with PlayStation Plus pre-order, $19.99 without.

Of the four pre-order themes, only Bound ‘s is dynamic. The other three are static.

Curious as to whether any of these PlayStation Store PLAY games would be worth it? Sony has a trailer prepared that goes through them in exactly a minute.

If you buy at least two of the applicable games by August 23, Sony will send you a code that takes 20% off an entire cart’s worth of games at the PlayStation Store. Which works out to quite a nice deal.

Of the titles offered, I suggest looking at Abzu . It’s both beautiful and relaxing!
