The Twtch Plays craze is back! After taking on Pokemon , Street Fighter , and Halo , Twitch has decided to go hardcore with their hive mind game practices and take on Dark Souls .
For those of you who don’t know about the Twitch Plays phenomenon, it’s pretty simple. A game is linked up to a Twitch stream, such that commands typed in the chat translate to commands on a controller or keyboard. Then, the entire chat has to somehow coordinate themselves in order to move a characters around a game world and eventually complete a game. This is especially difficult considering that Twitch has about a 30 second delay when broadcasting, and the text parser adds yet another level of delay onto the game. So whatever you do, your commands will be parsed about a minute from when you enter them.
Right now, the hivemind is attempting to get through a door and failing. Not a good sign. Dark Souls is a game notorious for being hard to beat when there is only one gamer at the wheel.
