Vita Games Getting Online Passes

Vita Games Getting Online Passes

None

Last month, it was revealed that PS Vita game Hot Shots Golf: World Invitational would require an online pass to be played online in Japan. Up until now, we were unsure whether or not American PSV might follow suit.

Now it has been confirmed that Hot Shots will, in fact, require an online pass in North America. As always, new copies of the game will include an online pass, while people who buy used copies will have to fork over ten extra bucks. The only other Vita game to require an online pass so far is WipEout 2048. No other titles on the PS Vita store use them at this time, but considering how prevalent they are in the current console generation, we can probably expect more online Vita passes in the future.

However, there is good news for Vita owners too. For example, Super Stardust Delta is not only free of online passes, it’s literally free for anyone who has a 3G connection on their Vita. Anyone who activated a 3G data plan will be able to download it, as well as its Blast Pack DLC, free of charge.
