Ex developers have teamed up to form their own company, West Games. The team recently announced their first game Areal , which is allegedly a spiritual successor to S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Areal is now on Kickstarter with a $50,000 funding goal.
Areal is an open-world shooter in a post-apocalyptic setting. Civilization is in ruins thanks to an alien material known as Metamorphite. This material may have the power to corrupt civilization, but it’s also useful for the game’s characters because they can use it to modify their abilities. This will come in handy when facing off against the many mutants. In addition, there’s (thankfully) no morality system, as players can choose to do whatever suits their needs.
West Games also has some stretch goals which include 32-person free roam multiplayer, enemy variety, and competitive multiplayer. If funded, West Games plans on bringing Areal to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Wii U, Windows, Mac, and Linux.
