Windows 10 Can’t Disable Pirated Games and Programs

Time to debunk a rumor! OK, so yesterday everyone was going on and on about how Windows 10 would fight piracy. Word was that the OS would find and block access to pirated games and programs. Well, that was a misunderstanding of the company’s EULA language. If you have unauthorized apps or games, Windows 10 won’t block access to them.

Microsoft and Windows 10 can block people from using some services if agreements are violated, but only ones provided by the company. This means you could find yourself cut off from Xbox Live or the Windows Store on your PC or maybe suddenly be unable to use Bing, but that’s the worst of it.

This doesn’t mean you should go pirate games. Piracy is wrong. But if you do have a third party program on your PC, Microsoft and Windows 10 won’t bust you and keep it from working.
