As if the world were running short on fantasy-themed MMOs, Bigpoint, the company behind the browser-based Battlestar Galactica Online, is planning to launch a new MMO based on George R.R. Martin’s A Game of Thrones franchise. But, that’s not the only Thrones-themed title that will be landing on your computer next year. There’s also talk of a social networking game similar to FarmVille. Though, I highly doubt that anyone would release a farming sim based on A Game of Thrones. I think we can all assume that comparing it to FarmVille was probably just some kind name dropping. 
Either way, both the MMO and the social networking title will be released in 2012. So, if you’re a fan of the HBO series, books, board games, RPGs, RTSs, or any of the other Thrones products, keep your ear to the ground. Or maybe you should try out a new franchise?
