We’ve known for some time that Microsoft was going to have a pretty big pre-GDC conference, but as cynical game journalists we all assumed that this “big” conference was going to be some big wind-up about Kinect sales figures or Xbox Live metrics. However, if you believe Xbox Head of Programming (and PR Wunderkind) Major Nelson, then there is going to be a lot more coming out of this conference than simple bar graphs and PR talk.  On the Major Nelson podcast, he recently said, “Next week I’m going to be down in San Francisco. We are having an invite-only press event that we’re going to have some cool news that I’m not quite fully briefed on, but we have a lot of news that we’re going to be announcing. Just telling you guys, you’re going to be really happy when you hear all the news, that’s all I can say.” So, is this enough to get you excited? Or are you taking this announcement with a grain of salt? |
