Cast of X-Men: Days of Future Past Talk Film and More

As the release of the new time-travel flick X-Men: Days of Future Past lands on our doorstep, some of the cast recently sat down to share a few stories and experiences.

In a video interview conducted by ComingSoon, Peter Dinklage was asked about his character Bolivar Trask. Dinklage reveals that much of Trask’s motivations are driven by ego, but also a will to survive. Much of his Sentinel development is based around the fact that he is aware that humans are about to be skipped over on the evolutionary ladder, with Mutants rising to become the dominate species. So, against the backdrop of the Vietnam War, Trask sets out on a mission to preserve human’s place (or at least that’s what he tells himself when initiating the Sentinel program).

Both Patrick Stewart and Ellen Page were on hand, as they sat together and shared stories of the character Kitty Pride’s evolution. Stewart recalled how she started as just a young little girl at Xavier’s School, but now has matured into a full-on freedom fighter. The subject of Kitty also making a return in future X-Men projects was thrown out, an idea which Page certainly seemed enthusiastic about.

However, possibly my favorite part of the interview came between Michael Fassbender and James McAvoy. Fassbender states that he literally wanted to depict Magneto (who has been captured and is being kept in a holding cell) doing yoga for hours on end. The point being, if Magneto could calm his mind and concentrate hard enough, he could perhaps find some shards of metal throughout the building somewhere which could help enact his escape. Ultimately it never made the cut, but a fun idea none the less. McAvoy also revealed that he was a huge Patrick Stewart fan since the days of Star Trek: The Next Generation .
