CES 2012: Microsoft Reveals Xbox 360 Sales Numbers

CES 2012: Microsoft Reveals Xbox 360 Sales Numbers

None

Microsoft didn’t reveal a whole lot of new information at their press conference at The Consumer Electronics Show. There was no word on the rumored Xbox 720, and most of the game trailers shown were pretty much all for games we already know about. They did show us that News Corporation outlets such as the Wall Street Journal, Fox, Fox News, and IGN will be bringing their services to the Xbox soon, and that the Windows-specific version of Kinect will be out on February 1st at a price of two hundred and fifty dollars.

Since they couldn’t wet our whistle with new game reveals, they had to fill their press conference with sales numbers instead, and yes these numbers were decently impressive. There have been 66 million Xbox 360’s sold since its release with 18 million Kinects sold alongside it. The 360 sold nearly a million units in the United States alone in Black Friday week. Xbox live has almost 40 million users, though not all of those are gold members.

Long story short: the Xbox is doing okay.
