CoD:Elite Members Get A Free Month

CoD:Elite Members Get A Free Month

None

Call of Duty players have been understandably frustrated by Elite’s constant downtime over the last few days, but Activision is taking steps to ensure that the community doesn’t hate them.

Yesterday, a message that promises a free month of CoD: Elite showed up on the service’s status page.

“[W]e are having trouble scaling the service to meet demand,” the message states. “Many of you are trying to get in and unfortunately, you can’t right now. You’re frustrated, we know it, and we know we need to fix it. Our teams have been working non-stop to identify issues and resolve them as quickly as possible. Again, these issues have no impact on the performance of the game.”

The developer is also planning to extend the deadline for players to sign up for “Founder” status, which comes with a few additional perks. The deadline will be pushed back to the end of November, rather than the 13th, and all Founders will be given an extra month of Elite.

Almost everyone who’s been trying to log on and/or register has been met with error messages, service outages, and endless loading screens. Activision has been trying to remedy the situation by quadrupling Elite’s server space and bandwidth, but, obviously, the kinks have not been worked out quite yet.
