Call Of Duty Elite Missing Wii U Launch

Call Of Duty Elite Missing Wii U Launch

Call of Duty Black Ops II is a launch title for the Wii U, which is a magnificent boon to hardcore Wii fans. However, the game will still lag behind the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions to an extent, as Call of Duty Elite, the online subscription service for the Call of Duty series, will not be available at launch. In fact, it may not make its way to the Wii U at all.

“We are currently evaluating the option for Call of Duty Elite to support Nintendo’s Wii U game system,” Activision said in a statement. “However, with details for the Wii U just recently revealed, we’re not able to have Call of Duty Elite available for the Wii U when the new system launches on November 18.”

Unfortunately, this also means that we won’t know how Activision will handle downloadable content in the Wii U’s future. With the Wii U having so little built-in memory, they may choose to address DLC in a different way.

Activision recently announced that all of Elite’s features will be free for Black Ops II . The rest of its DLC content will be available via a season pass, retailing at $49.99 (4,000 Microsoft Points) or individually for $14.99 (1,200 Microsoft Points). A Wii U plan has not yet been announced.
