Disney’s Aladdin Cheats & Cheat Codes for Super Nintendo, Sega Genesis, Game Boy, and more

Disney’s Aladdin Cheats & Cheat Codes for Super Nintendo, Sega Genesis, Game Boy, and more

Disney’s Aladdin is one of the most successful Disney films of all time. The success was followed by two 1993 platformers developed by Capcom and Virgin Games. The Capcom game developed for Super Nintendo was designed by Shinji Mikami of Resident Evil fame. It was released the same month as Virgin Games’ version.

The two versions have many similarities but there are some differences. In the Virgin game, Aladdin dons a scimitar he’s able to use in gameplay. This mechanic is absent from the Capcom version. Both games were received very well and even started many debates by fans as to which was the better version. Even Shinji Mikami, the game’s designer, chimed in and said he preferred the virgin version.

The Premise Of Disney’s Aladdin

In the Capcom version of the title, Disney’s Aladdin, players play as the title character through multiple stages in Agrabah. You defeat foes by jumping on them or throwing projectiles at them. In the Virgin Games version of the title, Aladdin has access to short-range slash attacks providing an extra way to deal with enemies when compared to Capcom’s version. In both titles, Aladdin starts a level with extra lives that can be increased through pickups and bonus stages. You lose a life when your health is depleted or you fall off the bottom of the screen.

The Main Characters Of Disney’s Aladdin

  • Aladdin – A street urchin who becomes the prince of Agrabah after meeting Jasmine in the streets and being recruited by Jafar to retrieve the magical lamp from the Cave of Wonders.
  • Princess Jasmine – The rebellious princess of Agrabah, who flees the palace in revolt to her obligation to be married to a prince. While on the run, she meets Aladdin in the streets and later helps him defeat Jafar.
  • Genie – A jinn who is never given a proper name.
  • Jafar – Presented as the Sultan’s most trusted and loyal councilman.
  • Iago – The pet and sidekick to Jafar, and later Aladdin, after a reformation. He is comical and sarcastic.

  • Magic Carpet – An ancient carpet that was found by Aladdin in the Cave of Wonders’ treasure room.
