The Nintendo DS’s latest incarnation, the Nintendo DSi, has sold over one million units in the six weeks since the new model’s release in Japan.

According to Famitsu publisher Enterbrain, the DSi “has, as of December 21, sold a total of 1,062,416 units.” Total DS sales now sit at 24,859,874 units.

In related news, Square Enix announced in November that a special edition DSi would make its way to the Japanese market to coincide with the release of Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Echoes of Time. Now the bundle has been confirmed by Square Enix in a Famitsu article that it will be available in Japan next month and cost ¥23,940 ($260).

The bundle will include a limited edition DSi with Crystal Chronicles graphic and a copy of the game.
