Final Fantasy XIII Exclusively for Xbox 360; Versus XIII Only for PS3! (April Fool's)

Square Enix looks to have played Microsoft in convincing fashion! Microsoft paid a reported $253 million for the exclusive rights to Final Fantasy XIII, yanking the once Sony exclusive title right out from under the Japanese gaming giant.

However, what Microsoft failed to realize is that a second game with only minor distinctions is also in development at Square Enix. Consequently, Final Fantasy Versus XIII exclusivity was quickly scooped up by Sony for a mere ¥253 million (about $2.5 million USD).

Laughing hysterically at the blunder, a representative from Sony Computer Entertainment Japan, Heiji Yamata stated, “HAHAHA sirry gaijin. What goofs?!”

In an attempt to spin the massive oversight in their favor, a Microsoft PR claimed, “In the spirit of hope and wealth redistribution that has so recently swept the nation, we at Microsoft have decided send a little of the bailout love overseas. Karma’s important you know.”

Mr. Yamata replied to that statement with just one word: “Suckers!”
