Devil’s Third is the latest game from Tomonobu Itagaki, the man who helped shape Dead or Alive and Ninja Gaiden. It’s a Wii U exclusive, and you’ve probably never heard of it, despite Nintendo publishing it. Know why? Because Nintendo has apparently sent the game out to retail to die.
See, Devil’s Third isn’t a very good third person shooter and beat ’em up. The multiplayer is supposedly the best part, but the game as a whole is plagued by a cumbersome control scheme. Apparently, Nintendo realizes this, because the retail run is ridiculously small. According to Destructoid , GameStop only has 420 copies online to sell.
People are capitalizing on this, of course. Copies that are found are being bought and resold for exorbitant prices. So if you’re a collector, keep an eye out. Supposedly, people were reporting on Twitter that even the Nintendo Store in New York was selling out
Of course, if you don’t care about physical copies, none of this matters. Devil’s Third is easily found on the Nintendo Wii U eShop. It’s $59.99 there, for people who really want it.
